I have come to this conclusion: Senior year shouldn't be mandatory for all students. Some students shouldn't be required to do their senior year. Let's face it, some students by the end of the junior, sometimes even sophomore, year are ready for college. It would do so much good for lots of people if senior year were optional. It'd save tax payer dollars and help students who are ready to get an early start on college.
The way I see it is that sometimes, no most of the time, teachers move at the pace of the slowest students; this year I have experienced this, and it frustrates me to no end. Sometimes a student needs help and then some are just slow and I shouldn't have to suffer for it. It drove me to cheating on some papers (and getting caught don't worry); I know it was wrong, and I've learned from my mistake, so I'll have to admit that, that experience was beneficial to me.
I prefer for a class to be extremely hard; I want A.P. standards for every class I take. Somethings not worth doing unless it requires effort.
My senior year has been almost zero work, and I've managed to carry a 3.0 at minimum. I'm passing all of my classes, and I'm restless. I've only got about seven weeks left and only need half a credit to graduate which is a given because I have required classes. I'm falling asleep in A.P. Literature/Composition and have a 96% in the class; this is where I'm standing.
My senior year is meaningless to me; things such as prom aren't important to me etc... I want to graduate, and I've become more and more apathetic as this year has drug on. This year has been more or less just jumping through hoops, and I'm tired.
I wanted my senior year to have some meaning if I had to do it, but another disappointment.
